Facility Management Fire Damper Inspections

It is the responsibility of facility managers to be aware and compliant with various rules and regulations.

Ventilation ductwork cleaning

Ventilation ductwork has to be cleaned on a regular basis, to ensure it complies with TR19. The TR19 standard specifies that all ventilation ductwork has to be given a classification depending on what part of the property it is in. The classifications are high, medium or low. These classifications determine how often the ventilation ductwork needs to be tested and cleaned. We are able to classify what parts of your ventilation system fall under which classification. We can then work with you to create a maintenance plan that fits your needs and requirements.

For more information on the different classifications please visit our legislation and regulations page.

Fire damper maintenance

Fire damper maintenance and testing is vital. Fire dampers are designed to stop the spread of fire through ducts, walls, floors and ceilings. This is why it is so important to ensure they work.

Fire dampers can slow down the spread of fire meaning your clients will have longer to evacuate the premises.

Kitchen extract cleaning

Any facilities you manage must have their kitchen extract work cleaned and maintained frequently, in line with T19. The build-up of grease, oils and fats can spread through ventilation systems and pose a risk to your clients. Any building insurance you may have will also be invalid if cleaning of the ductwork is not conducted in line with fire safety regulations and work place regulations.
